This is a log home we are building in Southern Oregon near Gold Hill. Our customer started with a design from our catalog and reduced the size of our Osprey model to 2178 square feet. We will add photo’s as our crew continues on this home, stay tuned!
Laying the first course of wall logs.
It goes pretty quick when using a boom truck.
We installed 10 courses the first day.
Fours days in, we have the rear portion decked with 2 x 6 t&g pine decking.

Ready to stick frame the shed dormer walls.
In less than 10 working days were are able to have this home weather protected.
Starting to assemble the gable dormers.
About 14 working days, we have some of the roof rigid insulation installed.
Two 8 ft. gable dormers, one over the living room and the other in the upstairs bedroom.
Log siding will go over the dormer walls to match the log walls.
The roof insulation will be R-38.
The second floor with have two bedrooms, a bath, and an open loft.
This second floor will have 720 square feet.

The living room gable end will provide plenty of natural light.
Installing high definition Architectural Composition roofing.
Just put in the gable end windows with log siding on the sides.
The windows will get trimmed out with pine.
Con Heart redwood installed with small headed deck screws.
Roofing material goes on in two days.
We used CertainTeed Landmark Pro High Definition roofing on this log home.
The guys are working inside installing the window trim while it’s raining outside.
Windows installed, awaiting doors.
The partition walls are framed, rough plumbing and electrical installed.
This window is ready for pine trim after installing fiberglass insulation on top (allowing for settlement) and filling in the sides with insulating foam.
The roofing is installed and the home is watertight.

Wow, been looking on internet to help me in my log cabin build. Your side apex windows are almost identical to mine.
Could I ask a question about the other main floor windows. How do you finish trim the outside? Is the trim surface flush with the outside curve of the log?
